Property Description and Mapping maintains the parcel layers in the County GIS for all parcels in Ottawa County. The staff assigns new parcel numbers, writes new legal descriptions and updates the county computer for all property splits.
Property Description and Mapping also assists 16 local units with their use of the county's in-house property tax system. Staff prepares tax rolls, tax bills, assessment rolls, assessment notices and various reports used by local assessors and treasurers. They enter ordered changes and create revised tax bills and reports. Property Description and Mapping imports assessment rolls, tax rolls and names and addresses from local units.
