The Fiscal Services Department provides centralized financial services for all accounting and financial matters, budget, purchasing and risk management. The Fiscal Services Department operates under the direction of the County Administrator by and through the Fiscal Services Director.

Purchasing

The purpose of the purchasing function is to provide fair and equitable treatment of all persons involved in the buying and selling of supplies, equipment, services and construction from/to Ottawa County and its constituent departments. Purchasing endeavors to maximize the value of funds expended and to provide safeguards for maintaining a procurement system of quality and integrity.

Vendors that would like to receive and respond to Ottawa County Request for Proposal (RFP) opportunities must register with BidNet E-Procurement System. All RPPs can be accessed at BidNet E-Procurement System.

Risk Management

The department provides the operational support to the Ottawa County Michigan Insurance Authority. The Authority is a legal entity which administers a program of self-funding and commercial insurance in the areas of property and liability. Support services include items such as claims/litigation management, loss control, risk management, and financial reporting for its two members, the County of Ottawa and the Ottawa County Building Authority.
