Access Points

Ottawa County Michigan Works! Partners with area non-profits and public-space entities to create Access Points for the purposes of public online job search.

In other words an agency or public space such as a library will allow part of its floor space to be used as a public walk-up for online job-search functionality and will provide referrals to other community or faith-based services.

SHARE stands for Sharing How Access to Resources Empowers. Any entity willing to be part of the SHARE network will receive training from Michigan Works! and support from the State of Michigan. Support will include computers - which are already configured for this purpose - and funding for such purposes as high-speed Internet.

Training from Michigan Works! includes how to help people search online for employment, and which services the Michigan Works! service center offers in order to refer clients to the service center when appropriate.
