Mission Statement:

The mission of the Ottawa County 20th Circuit Drug Treatment Court is to eliminate the abuse of alcohol, other drugs and related criminal activity.

Program Components

One of the most unique features to the program is the relationship which the participants have with the Judge. Participants will be required to appear before the Judge for the purpose of reporting their successes and failures on a biweekly basis. Staff will work with participants to remove barriers that prohibit their success while in the program, such as employment, housing and transportation.

The program is broken into four phases. Each phase is approximately 4 months in length. Participants are given incentives for their positive work within the Drug Treatment Court Program. Additionally, violations of program rules or law violations will result in sanctions; this may delay advancement to the next phase. Some additional components include:

  • Treatment as recommended by clinical assessment
  • Random drug testing
  • Bi-weekly Drug Treatment Case Review sessions
  • Weekly face-to-face contact with Probation Officer
