Due to this difference, it must be noted that comparisons may not be completely equivalent in all cases. Ottawa County data were obtained from the Michigan State Police because county-level data are not available for each year between 2005 and 2015 from the FBI. Michigan's data source is the FBI, Uniform Crime Reports. When this page was last updated in August 2018, 2016 data was the most recent data available for Michigan, and 2017 data was the most recent data available for Ottawa County.
