Volunteering

Volunteering offers so much to Clubhouse members and to our communities. Volunteering is a great way to gain skills, make connections, and find meaningful purpose for our lives.  Clubhouse often goes into the community as a group to help in areas like the Ottawa County Parks Department, West Michigan United Way, Furry Friends Pet Pantry, and Habitat for Humanity just to name a few.

We also assist those looking for individual volunteering sites. These sites have helped us gain community supports, knowledge of programs, and really allows us to give back to a community that has given to us.  Volunteering also helps us break stigma that people may have of what it means to have mental illness. Often we are placed with other groups and in working together we have changed the way our communities view us.

By giving our time and hard work to other community programs the whole community benefits. Each step we take is a step in the right direction.
