HIV Testing

Confidential HIV testing is offered by appointment.  Fees are based on income.  If you answer yes to any of the following questions, you should be tested for HIV. If you continue with any of these behaviors, you should be tested every year.

  • Have you injected drugs or steroids or shared needles or works with others?

  • Have you had unprotected sex?

  • Have you been diagnosed with or treated for hepatitis, tuberculosis, or a sexually transmitted disease?

Sexually Transmitted Disease Services

Confidential sexually transmitted disease testing and treatment is offered by appointment. While parent participation is encouraged, teens under 18 can seek STD services without parent consent.  Call Holland at 616-396-5266, Grand Haven at 616-846-8360, or Hudsonville at 616-669-0040.  If you are having symptoms of an STD, please inform the clerk when you call for your appointment.  A nurse may wish to do a phone assessment. Fees are based on income.  Plan First is a program to cover the cost of sexually transmitted infection testing, treatment and other services.  Health Promotion also offers STD education and prevention, plus information for parents wishing to talk to their children about reproductive health.  If pregnancy prevention is a concern, we can help you with that as well.

Tuberculosis (TB) Services

TB testing, including evaluation and education about tuberculosis is available. For those with positive TB tests, clinic visits for assessment, X-ray and needed medications are provided.  Call 616-396-5266 for an appointment. For more information about TB, visit the Centers for Disease Control.
