Walk for Warmth (W4W)
An annual statewide event held in February to raise funds for utility assistance. Volunteers are needed to help plan, organize, publicize, donate prizes, and WALK. Sponsorship information packet and fundraising ideas.
Food Programs
Volunteers are needed on the monthly and quarterly distributions days to assist with recording and documenting eligibility information, assist with loading boxes into cars, and packaging food for distribution. For more information contact Mary Grillo at Community Action Agency, (616) 393-5619.
Community Gardens
Volunteers are needed throughout the planting, growing, and harvesting seasons for the gardens. Volunteers are assisted by MSU Extension Master Gardeners and Master Composters, and garden coordinators. For more information contact Mary Grillo at Community Action Agency, (616) 393-5619.

An innovative program that prepares families for homeownership
opportunities:
Home Maintenance Speakers - Persons knowledgeable about specific topics such as, plumbing, electrical procedures, furnaces, landscaping, painting, wall repair, structural systems, doors, windows and insulation, and energy conservation.
Home Ownership Speakers - Persons knowledgeable regarding realty, mortgages, home inspections, and economic literacy, banking services.
Advisory Board
The Advisory Board governs the policies and procedures of Community Action Agency. Members are needed to serve on the board in an advisory capacity.
