Job seeking ex-offenders, just released from prison or living with old convictions in their background, often experience challenges to finding and sustaining employment. Ottawa County Michigan Works offers the following specialized assistance to ex-offenders:
- Learning effective job search strategies for ex-offenders
- Information on employer incentives for hiring ex-offenders, such as bonding & tax credit opportunities
- Assistance with identifying & resolving other potential barriers to sustained employment
- Training & educational opportunities
- Referrals to other local agencies & programs to assist ex-offenders with employment, skill development, & other resources
