Michigan Works! No Worker Left BehindNo Worker Left Behind

The goal of No Worker Left Behind is to double the number of Michiganians trained for family-sustaining jobs in demand in the 21st Century knowledge economy. That is, to train 100,000 people over the next three years.

No Worker Left Behind Features:

  • Job search assistance & career exploration coaching provided by a No Worker Left Behind Career Manager
  • Up to two years worth of free tuition at any Michigan community college, university or other approved training program, to a maximum of $5,000 each year

Basic Eligibility:

  • Persons who are unemployed, OR
  • Persons who have received a termination or layoff notice, OR
  • Employed persons whose family income is less than $40,000 per year

Steps to sign up and qualify for No Worker Left Behind in Ottawa County:

Visit one of our Michigan Works service centers:

  1. At the service center, place your resume on the Michigan Talent Bank web site. A service center staff member can help you with this process.
  2. Then tell a service center staff member that you wish to sign up for the No Worker Left Behind Program.
  3. Our staff member will sign you up to attend the next available No Worker Left Behind orientation meeting, and provide you an information packet with forms to complete and bring with you to your scheduled meeting.
  4. After your orientation meeting, your registration forms are processed to finalize your eligibility.

Once your eligibility is finalized, you are contacted by your No Worker Left Behind Training/Career Manager to meet with them and begin services.
