Richard Sibley Jr. has been employed at The Holland Group Inc. since January 1995 in the engineering department. He has been in his current position for 4 years.
Richard serves on the Education Advisory Board for Ottawa County and as the Technical Advisor in the drafting area for the Ottawa Area Vocational Center.
He has his AAS in Engineering from Muskegon Business College.
The most important thing he has learned in his career is that people are the most important asset of any job. Also, keeping people trained to keep pace with technology advancements is critical.
Richard considers the expansion of the global marketplace, resulting in the increasing need to consider overseas markets in design of products and standards, as the biggest change in his career in the past few years. Also, being able to communicate clearly with those from other countries is crucial for success.
The biggest challenge in his career has been keeping pace with the technology. This applies to the resources that he uses to do his job and the products he designs and produces.
