Program Services

Regularly scheduled home visits are the primary modality through which services are provided to families enrolled in Parenting Plus.

Parenting Plus offers a Continuum of Relationship-based Services. These include:

  • providing emotional support to parents
  • education on parenting, including age appropriate child management skills
  • education on child development using a variety of curriculums
  • providing guidance to families as they become self sufficient
  • encouraging enjoyment of parental role
  • supporting positive interaction between parent and child
  • highlighting the important role of fathers
  • facilitating access to community service agencies
  • sharing information through a monthly newsletter
  • completing developmental assessments using a variety of tools
  • infant mental health assessment and treatment
  • intensive services when needed including case management and collaboration with other agencies

Duration of services is based on family need and/or request.

There is no fee to families for the service.

Referral Process

Referral Form

All referrals should be sent to the Program Coordinator via mail or telephone at (616) 394-7223 or toll free (866) 440-4111.

Referrals should include parent's names and birth dates, address, children's names and birth dates, and reason for referral. Information will be mailed to a family and an introductory assessment and home visit will follow.
