What is RSS?
RSS? What’s that?
Really Simple Syndication, or RSS, is an easy way to get the news you
want whenever it is updated without having to constantly check a Website.
RSS feeds contain headlines and links to new content on Webpages.
In the case of miOttawa, RSS News feeds are based on new content published
in specific topic areas. You can quickly link to the latest Board & Committee Meeting minutes and agendas.
How can I receive RSS feeds?
First, you’ll need to download a news reader or aggregator if you
don’t already have one. These desktop software applications can
collect, update and display RSS feeds from a wide variety of sources.
A number of news readers are available for you to download, many at no
cost. The news readers vary slightly in how they look and act, so you
may find yourself testing several before settling on one. A compendium
of RSS news readers can be viewed at http://allrss.com/rssreaders.html.
To subscribe to RSS feeds from miOttawa.org, simply select a content
section of interest, from the list published on the Meeting Minutes & Agendas page. Click
on either the text link or the RSS icon, and follow your news reader's
instructions for subscribing to (or adding) feeds.
