Ottawa County Parks - T-Shirt Design Contest Rules

Ottawa County Parks is having a t-shirt design contest! Up to five designs from eligible entries will be chosen to print on shirts and sold at the Nature Education Center. One Grand Prize will be awarded.

Participants may create a shirt that represents what Ottawa County Parks means to them or a design featuring their favorite park. Words are allowed (e.g. quotes, etc).

If a participant chooses to create a shirt for a specific park, the name of the park must be included in the design. An organization logo will be added to the shirt prior to printing.

Eligibility

This competition is open to all ages. Minors must have permission from their parents. Full time Ottawa County Parks employees and Parks Commissioners are not eligible to enter. We will accept up to three designs per participant.

Entry Form & Deadline

Entries must be received by 5 pm on Sunday, January 8. Submissions should be sent to ocparks@miOttawa.org. You will receive a confirmation of submission by the next business day.

Winner(s)

Up to five designs will be chosen to print. One Grand Prize winner will be chosen.

The Grand Prize winner will receive a 2017 Ottawa County Parks pass, free t-shirt of their design, and one free rental of a premium Ottawa County Parks facility (Grand Ravines Lodge, Weaver House at Pine Bend, Cabin at Connor Bayou).

Artists whose designs are printed will receive a free t-shirt with their design.

Multiple designs from the same artists may be chosen.

Winner Selection

All entries will be judged by a panel of judges comprised of Parks staff, Parks Commissioners, and Parks volunteers based on the following criteria: a.) originality (25%), b.) creativity (25%), c.) appropriateness to Ottawa County Parks or specific park (30%), and d.) public appeal as determined by public comments and likes received via Facebook (20%).

Ottawa County Parks will choose up to twenty (20) Finalists from all designs submitted, and post the designs online for public voting.

Entries will be narrowed down by Monday, January 16 and public voting will begin on Facebook on Tuesday, January 17 and end on Monday, January 23.

Incorporating public feedback, the judges will choose up to five (5) designs to be printed and name one (1) of those the Grand Prize winner by Friday, January 27.

All artwork must be original. All other work is subject to disqualification.

Retention of Designs

Entries become exclusive property of Ottawa County Parks. Ottawa County Parks has exclusive rights to the reproduction of winning entries and submitting artist relinquishes all rights to such design. All proceeds from the sale of t-shirts will go to Ottawa County Parks.

Publicity and Agreement

Entering this contest constitutes an agreement by the winning artist(s) to relinquish all copyrights to the submitted work to Ottawa County Parks. Please note that if your design is chosen, you may be asked to make necessary revisions required for logo use and media applications.
