Emergency Management and Security are important topics for places of worship. A steady rise in emergencies at churches throughout the country necessitates a need to prepare for a variety of crisis situations, such as violence, disruptive visitors, plus medical and weather emergencies.
The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office invites area church leaders to a day-long, introductory workshop in Security and Emergency Management. The workshop is at Beechwood Church, 895 Ottawa Beach Road, Holland.
Topics at the workshop will include the history of church-related incidents, identifying and handling suspicious people, child safety, Smart911, creating security and response teams and more. The agenda is below. Lunch is not provided, but participants will have a 1.25-hour break.
