Committee Descriptions

Agricultural Preservation Board

Established by the PDR Ordinance as passed by the County Board to oversee and administer the PDR Rights Program. Establish selection criteria for ranking and prioritization of all landowner applications for PDR Rights. Provide recommendations to the County Board based on top scoring applicants & negotiate pricing to be offered to property owners. Monitor PDR restrictions and authorize negotiations for conservation easement purposes. Provide an annual report to the County Board.

Community Corrections Advisory Board

Is to implement the County Comm.Corr.Plan, act in an advisory capacity to the OC Director of Comm. Corr., approve applications for grant funding, monitor programs in accordance with Public Act 511 of 1988, utilization of the County jail with respect to felony and misdemeanant population and operational programs that divert offenders. The opening must be filled with a representative from mental health, public health, substance abuse, employment and training or community alternative programs.

Community Mental Health Board

The CMH Board is a Policy Governance Board pursuant to Section 226 of the Mental Health Code. The Board is comprised of up to 4 County Commissioners, 4 Primary Consumers & Family Members & 4 General Public Members. Appointments are made by the Board of County Commissioners. The CMH Board meets every 4th Monday of the month at 3:00 p.m. Members must attend the monthly CMH Board of Directors meeting & may be required to attend ad hoc meetings as needed.

Sanitary Board of Appeals

The Appeals Board for Sanitary Code is responsible to hear on-site sewage related appeals of the requirements contained in the Ottawa County Environmental Health Code. The meeting schedule is on an as needed basis.
