The Materials Management Planning Committee (MMPC) is a permanent body appointed by the Board of Commissioners (CAA) to oversee and guide the Designated Planning Agency (DPA) in the development, coordination, and implementation of the Materials Management Plan (MMP).
Materials Management Plan (MMP) is a program designed to guide the management of county materials, with an emphasis on increasing sustainable practices, such as recycling and composting, in addition to ensuring safe disposal options.
Managed Materials are solid waste, diverted waste, and recyclable material. Duties include: Direct the DPA in preparing the MMP. Review and approve the DPA work program. Identify relevant local policies and priorities. Ensure coordination in the preparation of the MMP. Advise county and municipalities on materials management issues. Ensure the DPA meets all requirements and public participation rules. Notify relevant parties of any identified deficiencies in the MMP. Approve the MMP parties prior to public comment. Provide final approval of the MMP before presentations to the County Approval Agency.
