The Ottawa County Economic Development Corporation and Ottawa County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority are responsible for alleviating and preventing conditions of unemployment and assisting and retaining local industries and commercial enterprises in Ottawa County. This board is authorized by state statute Act 338 and the Authority is authorized by state statute Act 381. It is comprised of nine members that are appointed by the County Board of Commissioners. Members of this board serve six-year terms, and meet bi-monthly, as needed, at the Ottawa County Fillmore Street complex.
