About the G4G Initiative

As the movement to create more welcoming communities across the country has expanded, more and more people are interested in hearing how welcoming our immigrant neighbors can be a force for economic growth. Local communities across the country have long seen the positive effects of a growing immigrant population. Immigrant populations have driven population growth, revitalized neighborhoods, stimulated innovation, and enriched communities with cultural diversity.

In November of 2020, Ottawa County was awarded the Gateways for Growth Research Award to bring together other local government agencies, nonprofits, educational institutions, and businesses to develop a strategic welcoming plan on immigrant integration.
