Guests will have an opportunity to taste tapas; vote on your favorite dish via text message; and virtually bid on a unique selection of silent auction items – all while supporting farmland preservation!

About the Event
Farms are the Tapas, Ottawa County’s premiere farmland preservation fundraising event, features local chefs creating locally sourced signature tapas dishes as part of a friendly competition to win the coveted Harvest Knife Award. Guests will have an opportunity to taste tapas dishes; vote on your favorite dish by text; and virtually bid on a unique selection of silent auction items – all while supporting farmland preservation!
We have streamlined the Tapas experience, offering a touch-free virtual option and have again partnered with Event.Gives. Through this site you can register, buy tickets, view event updates, peruse auction packages, and virtually bid on silent auction items. The auction will open on September 27. Once the auction opens, registered participants can bid on items via their smartphone or other web-enabled device. For more information on the bidding process, see the ‘ONLINE AUCTION PREVIEW’ tab.
On September 30, starting at 6 p.m., ticket-holders will be invited to Terra Square to enjoy tapas dishes, vote on their favorite dish, while safely social distancing at the venue.
Front and center at this event is a fun master chef cooking competition! Guests will feast on delicious farm-to-table creations made of fresh, locally sourced ingredients, and then vote by text, on their favorite dish.
Online Auction Preview
Our silent auction is digital! You don’t need to buy a ticket to bid, but you must register! Creating an account is simple: Head to event.gives/tapas2021 in the upper righthand corner of the webpage select the three-lined box, then select ‘Login’ in the dropdown menu. From there you’ll be prompted to enter your phone number and create a password. Registered participants can begin bidding starting September 27.
The fifth-annual Farms are the Tapas fundraising event returns to the beautiful Terra Square, 3380 Chicago Dr., Hudsonville. Terra Square features a farmers market, event space and membership-driven business work space. Completion of Terra Square earned Hudsonville the Michigan Municipal League’s Community Excellence Award in 2017. Besides being a site for Farms are the Tapas, Terra Square has been the site for farmers markets and many other community events
Tickets for Farms are the Tapas are $50. All proceeds support farmland preservation in Ottawa County. A ticket enables you enjoy tapas dishes at Terra Square on September 30 and vote in our chef’s competition.
Ticket sales will remain open right up to and during the event. Bear in mind that tickets are non-refundable, but are 100% tax deductible if you choose not to attend.

We plan to hold Farms are the Tapas on September 30 at Terra Square in Hudsonville as well as online. We will adjust the format as necessary to ensure a safe event. We have structured this event so that we can be flexible and follow the CDC guidelines require.
We will not be offering refunds on ticket purchases should you decide not to attend but will gladly send a donation receipt for tax purposes. Please continue to check this tab and Event.Gives/Tapas2021 for any updates.
