Ottawa County Amatuer Radio Auxiliary (OCARA)

Members of this group have obtained their amateur radio license at various levels and are available to help with radio communication when needed. Radio Amateur Civil Emergency Service (RACES)

RACES is authorized by Part 97.407 of the FCC Rules and Regulations. In the event of a large-scale emergency the highly trained and State-certified RACES group would be the only licensed amateur radio operators allowed to use the (amateur radio) air waves solely for emergency communications. RACES members are a subgroup of the OCARA team.
