Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events

Though we hope you are never faced with the situation, would you know what to do in the case of an active shooter? Hide? Evacuate? Doing the right things can increase your odds of getting through alive. The Ottawa County Sheriff's Office's Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events class, also known as CRASE, offers thought-provoking, eye-opening and engaging strategies, guidance, and plans for surviving an active shooter event.

Places of Worship Emergency Management Workshop

Safety and Security are becoming increasingly important for places of worship. Churches must be prepared for a variety of crisis situations, such as medical emergencies, domestic violence, disruptive or violent visitors, to weather emergencies. In this workshop attendees will learn about special concerns for the safety of children, the importance of emergency planning, identifying suspicious persons, Smart911 for facilities, and how to recognize high-risk areas in their place of worship and offices.

There is no cost for the class, but registration is required. See each event link for more details.
