Family Camping

Pigeon Creek Park-Group Camp

Enjoy a family fun weekend of camping close to home. Tents and sleeping pads are available for use. Activities include a teddy bear hunt sponsored by Deuter.

Cost is $30.00 per family. When registering, be sure to register one adult under "General" and the other adult as "adult" to be charged only $30.

Colors by Kayak

Soak up the last of summer and bask in the glorious fall colors along the Greenways of Ottawa County by kayak. Some kayak experience is needed. Ages 13+, minors accompanied by adult. A detailed letter will be sent prior to the trip.

Get out and enjoy the fall colors as you venture ALL THE WAY THROUGH these amazing parks! A guide will lead you through, so you'll have all the more reason to soak in the beauty and uniqueness of each park.

Difficult, uneven terrain on a sandy two-track. May also include some paved trail and steep boardwalk stairs at neighboring North Ottawa Dunes.

Round Trip: ~3.5 miles

Witness the spectacle of waterfowl migration at local hot spots.

"Waterfowl Field Trip Part 1 - Lakeshore Waterfowl" will start at the lakeshore and explore areas near Grand Haven, including the new Ottawa Sands Park. Details and meeting location will be emailed in advance to those registered.

*REGISTER FOR Part 2 to make it a full day of birding! Part 2 runs from 1pm - 5pm and will include the Coopersville farmland area and Muskegon Wastewater facility.

Un-Haunted Hike

NOTHING scary about this family hike! Come dressed in your costume ready to explore the paved trail at Hemlock Crossing. Along the way, you'll learn about critters of the season through a variety of activities at stations along the trail. Then we will "spook up" some donuts and cider in the Nature Center.

Recommended for ages 3-7 with a caregiver, but all ages welcome!

Birding Walk

Whether you are an avid birder or are just desiring to experience birds beyond your backyard, join us as we walk for warblers and search for sparrows on these birding walks highlighting parks all around the county. Easy to moderate terrain includes some paved walkway and some dirt and mowed grass pathways. Waterproof footwear may be helpful on dewy mornings.
