Newcomb's Wildflower Workshop

Hemlock Crossing Nature Education Center

Learn how to identify wildflowers using the Newcomb's Wildflower Guide. Activities during this inside workshop, will introduce participants in how to use the Newcomb's book as well as introduce some of the native wildflowers found in our parks and the pollinators associated with them.

The Nature Center will have Newcomb's Guides on hand to purchase.

An optional field trip to Kirk park begins at 2:30 and goes until 4 PM

Gardening with Native Plants

Learn the value of gardening with native plants, site and plant selection, planting techniques, and maintenance of native landscapes. After the program, per-order plants to pick up at the sale!

Both the presentation and the sale will be hosted at the Nature Center at Hemlock Crossing County Park. Proceeds from the plant sale benefit the Ottawa Conservation District.

Grand Ravines Lodge Open House

The lodge at Grand Ravines North will be open to the public several Sunday afternoons in April & May. The Friends of Ottawa County Parks volunteers will be available to answer any questions you have. See below for dates and other programs/events occurring on each date as well (some require registration).
